There are alot of new toys out this year and the retailers are advertising their top toys for Christmas 2013! It's getting to be that time of year again when we start thinking about what to give our little ones for Christmas. I've been out to the retail shops to browse and get some ideas and am doing some online research as well.
I order most of my Christmas gifts (for both kids and adults) online for several reasons. I always like to get the most bang for my buck so I shop around! I can usually find better deals online than when I am out shopping and always get free shipping so it is a great convenience for me. I also don't like to fight the crowds!
The top toys for the season are starting to get prime time advertising so if your child watches tv they may already be making requests.
These are some of the top toys on the retailers lists that I have either purchased or it's on my list! I have four grandchildren and one on the way so my list keeps growing from year to year. I don't plan to buy everything I list here but if I see an interesting toy that I think would be a great choice for a toddler I will note it here. Hopefully this will give you some guidance on your purchases this season.
#1. Baby Alive Real Suprises Baby Doll. This is just the cutest! I couldn't stop playing with this doll at the store so it's a must have for me, grandmas like to play too!!! This is on my list for my almost 3 year old grandaughter. She says things like: "I'm sooo hungry", "Did i make a stinky?", "I'm sleepy" believe me, she is adorable. The voice box sounds much clearer than some other dolls I have played with and it's a nice size for a toddler. She comes with a dress, bib, bottle, bowl, spoon, pacifirer and 3 diapers. There are also 2 food packets but food and diapers are sold separately as well. Baby Alive has been around for a long time so this is one of those dolls that keeps on giving!
#2. Fisher Price Imaginext Batcave Playset: I am considering this playset for my 4 year old grandson. He loves imaginative play with super heroes and batman is one of his favorites. This toy seems to have plenty of bells and whistles for a 4 year old. It comes with the Batman and Robin figures, batcycle, flight suit and 3 projectiles for the launcher. I think this is a great value for the money since Batman is popular for boys of all ages so i think my grandson will play with it for a few more years!
#3. Barbie Dream House: I am considering this as a gift for 2 of my grandaughters to share, ages 3 and 7. They can use this dollhouse for any of their dolls and any Barbies in their future!! A girl can never have enough Barbie's! I have a doll house here at home that I keep for when the grandkids come for visits. I have tons of accessories so they play for hours at a time. I think this would be the perfect gift for them to share as sisters and I can hardly wait to see them playing with it. For convenience I will have it shipped to their home but hopefully Mom and Dad will send videos! My favorite features are the working lights and flushing toilet! I like the kitchen sounds as well and of course the two elevators and door bell. What I like most is that it comes with the furniture and accessories! They have birthdays in the spring so new Barbie's are on the way! Make sure you watch the video here! It shows all the great features of this doll house!
#4. Flutterbye Flying Fairy : I've looked at this toy and I think this will be one of the top toys for Christmas 2013! My 7 year old grandaughter will love this one! Heck, it's a Fairy and it can fly! It takes (6) AA batteries but I always buy extras at Christmas and find them on sale. If you haven't seen this one be sure to watch the video. I may buy a couple of these early just because they are so darn cute and I don't want to wait until supplies are limited. That can be a problem if we wait until too late in the season to buy!
#5.Playskool Sesame Street Big Hugs Elmo: This toy is sure to be a big hit this year. It hugs, sings and dances. Lay him down and he sings a lullabye to your toddler and then starts to snore. How sweet! It takes (4) AA batteries and is recommended for ages 18 months and up. If your toddler is a Sesame Street fan then hugging Elmo is sure to please. Check out the Elmo video here!
#6. VeggieTales DVD Merry Larry & The True Light of Christmas:
If you haven't heard of VeggieTales then you are in for a treat. This is a new DVD for 2013 that your toddlers will love. I really like this brand because it's colorful, great songs and music that little ones love and it tells a great story your toddlers will understand. These make great travel DVD's and not to worry, no adult content is included in this brand unlike some other cartoons!
Amazon has this brand so check there for some great prices, for the full line i have included a link below for the VeggieTale store.
They have much more than DVD's. Books, puzzles, apparel and more!
#7.Furby Boom This one is sure to be one of the top toys for Christmas this year! Amazon has a great selection for $40.00 right now so suggest you scoop on this deal before they are all gone because these surely won't last.Check out the video here!
#8.Disney Sofia The First Talking Sofia and Animal Friends This one is a real cuttie! She communicates with her 3 animal friends, Clover the rabit, Robin the robin and Mia the bluebird. Be sure to watch the video, your little one will love playing with this one!
#9Lalaloopsy Mini Littles Doll, Crumbs Sugar Cookie/Sprinkle Spice Cookie . The Lalaloopsy Dolls seem to be a big hit with the kids this season! They were once rag dolls who magically came to life when their last stitch was sewn. They live in a magical world of suprises and adventure! Check them out!
